Wolverton Park – home of the Property Experts!
When most of us buy a car we get advice from a mechanic, so if you are looking for a new home, who better to give you a few words of wisdom than a property expert.
Gary Brooks has spent his life in the property business and reckons he and his family have fallen right on their feet in their three bedroom apartment overlooking the canal in Wolverton Park.
"With two teenage sons we were looking for more space and most of the places we looked at – well, the third bedroom was so small it was a joke. Here we've got really tremendous floor space and the family are delighted," he says.
"My wife wanted a garden and I really didn't. Then she saw the enormous balcony we've got, well it's more like a fourth floor patio and it seems to get the sun all day long, so that's a great compromise.
Gary saw the original plans for Wolverton Park some years ago and made up his mind right away that he would go for it when the time came.
"As to the financing, the options available are amazing. There's nothing out there to compare with it," he says.
As someone with a keen eye for the quality of bricks and mortar and the elegance of design he's extremely impressed. "Structurally, I think they're second-to-none. They've been spaced out very well and with a great deal of thought and they're very good from a security point of view. Internally, the apartments are fitted out with carpets and curtains, the appliances in the kitchen are good quality – the place was just readymade to move into."
Gary and his family were attracted by the historic nature of Wolverton with its older properties, canal and railway heritage. He believes the area could be on the way up and thinks now is the time to buy before prices begin to rise sharply again. He also strongly believes the property here will give excellent resale value and that the long-awaited upgrading of Wolverton railway station could have a significant impact on prices. "The station's just behind us," he says, "and it gives direct access to Birmingham and London literally a few minutes walk away."
So, the big question is, would this man with the inside track on local property recommend Wolverton Park to anyone else?
"I talk to people about it all the time and I recommend it to everybody one hundred per cent," he says, enthusiastically. "The properties are right, there are some fantastic deals available and the location is improving all the time. I'm always saying to people, go and see Marnie [Marnie Simmons, the Sales Team Leader for Knight Frank at Wolverton Park] and introduce yourself and just don't rule it out until you've has a proper look."
Beyond the talk of finance and investment, Gary says, above all, his family's new property is a real home. "We're all very happy here," he says, "and that's the most important bit." He is an expert, and he should know!
