Polish Mayor's visit to Wolverton Park

The Mayor of Milton Keynes, Cllr Euan Henderson, hosted a visit of the President (Lord Mayor) of Wroctaw in Poland to Wolverton Park, the new development incorporating historic Grade II listed Royal Train Shed buildings.

The visitors, who were shown Wolverton Park by Places for People Project Director Ian Troughton ,  were keen to see Milton Keynes as they believe there is a great deal of synergy with their own city which was virtually destroyed in the Second World War and has had to be rebuilt.

The President Dr Rafal Dutkiewicz who is leading the redevelopment in Wroctaw, said: “Milton Keynes is a new city but a similar age to the ‘new’ Wroctaw and we are keen to see how it has been developed and how it will grow.  I am very impressed with what has been done at Wolverton Park.  The town houses inside the Royal Train Shed are incredible and a fine example of development whilst keeping the history of your city alive.”
