Public Art to come to Wolverton Park
If you live in Wolverton or have a connection with the old railway works, Wolverton Park, the new residential and business development on the site of the Royal Train Sheds in Wolverton, would like to hear from you.
Developer, Places for People, together with Milton Keynes Council's Public Art Unit, are pleased to announce that Wolverton Park is to become home to significant works of public art and are proud to confirm the appointment of internationally renowned artist, Martin Heron who has created numerous works of stimulating public art throughout the UK (www.martinheron.co.uk)
Martin specialises in creating public art relevant to its location, enabling a sense of place and a new identity to be developed. The initial part of his creative process is to consult with the local community and relevant groups which enables him to make works that are truly site specific and sit well within the overall vision for a location.
“I am keen to hear from anyone with a link to Wolverton or the site and you don’t have to be artistic! Your memories, experiences and vision for the future, are what will inspire me “ says Martin.
If you would like to play an important role in inspiring Martin and join his workshops, then please email him at martin@wolvertonpark.co.uk giving a little bit of information about yourself, your link to Wolverton or the site and why you are interested in participating.
